Using Web Marketing In The Best Way - Internet Marketing Services

Online marketing is the number one essential tool for any online business. Promoting yourself and your website online is vital to the success of your business. Now is the best time to enter the world of Internet promotion. The following tips can help you figure out how to market your business.

TIPS! Think about how pertinent your service or product really is. Inferior products are still inferior no matter how well you market them.

You can use tools to see how many people are visiting your site versus how many people are ordering from your site. Analyze the information, and you can get quick feedback on whether your online marketing is effective or not. There are a variety of online tools that you can use to analyze your success.

TIPS! Coupons are a great way to entice your customers. This gives your customers a good reason to return, and also shows that you appreciate their business.

People often do not believe everything they read in ads. Like Pavlov?s dogs, people have been trained to be suspicious of an advertiser?s honesty. Don?t mislead people in any way about your services or products on your website. Offer plenty of product reviews, along with testimonials and test reports. Do not make false statements. Treat customers like they?re informed and intelligent. You should ensure that all customers are treated with honesty and respect. With honest, non-deceptive business practices, you?ll earn a good reputation and gain a core of loyal, repeat customers.

TIPS! Using ?guarantee? when you are marketing is a great idea. This assures customers that they do not have anything to lose by purchasing what you are selling.

TIPS! Use the signature line in forums and email to promote your business. If you are a member of online message boards and forums, you should put a link to your website in the signature.

The appearance and performance of your website is just as important as the in-store buying experience. Test all website functionality on a regular basis. Customers won?t shop at a store if they can?t get through the front entrance; online customers won?t likely wait around while you fix site bugs.

TIPS! Another option is putting it together with a product that is similar and selling it for a good price. Make sure that the terms of what you?re offering are clearly stated and easy to find.

A good online marketing strategy is to use image searching to your advantage. You can enhance your site by adding appropriate images, and this may attract additional customer exposure. People who are simply searching for information might end up taking a look through your website. They may come back another time if they like what they see, or even recommend your site to their friends.

TIPS! If regular emails to customers and potential customers are part of your Internet marketing strategy, make sure to rotate the links you include in your emails. People will quickly lose interest if you keep sending out the same kind of emails.

If you want to get a higher page ranking create a sale! You could buy your PageRank if it is a good deal, since deal sites and consumer sites will want to link with you. This is just like selling loss leaders for money.

TIPS! Utilize the word ?fast? when developing your advertising campaigns, and use that word everywhere that your products are discussed. Time is a valuable commodity for most people so let them know that you do everything in a timely manner.

As an Internet marketer, you want to become an expert on everything to do with your site. You need to be an authority figure to glean credibility from your visitors, and you can only do this by being knowledgeable and honest.

TIPS! Offer discounted prices. Show the discount price alongside the product?s original selling price for comparison.

Make sure that your site has something unique about it. If you can offer a unique, exclusive product, it can make a dramatic difference in the amount of traffic you receive. People will then investigate what else you have to offer, and that will bring your site legitimacy and helping your page ranking.

TIPS! Include some personal information in your campaign. Post a good photo of yourself and use your actual name.

Educate your customers about your products and how their lives will be improved by purchasing them. Convince the reader that their life would be better if they buy your product. Your advertising copy should read as if the customer is enjoying the special features and benefits of the product, even as they are reading the ad.

TIPS! It certainly sounds impressive to have profiles on all the social media sites you can think of, but you must give each your full attention so that it remains vibrant. Profiles that have not been updated recently are often viewed as spam.

Create a glossary containing all the terms linked to your industry to establish yourself as a professional. A glossary is beneficial to both potential and current customers and could help to direct new traffic toward your site. Anyone who searches for the terms you define will be directed to your site, providing you with exposure and a reputation as an authority.

TIPS! A quality website is vital to a successful internet marketing campaign. Here are things you should constantly strive to eliminate from your website: Glitches, broken graphics and bad links.

If you want to win with Internet promotion you should be serious about having great content on your site. Choosing the right color scheme can be very helpful. Keep the fact that the appeal of your website can make your visitors stay or go.

TIPS! Keep detailed statistics. This could be sales, refunds, referrals, conversion, or anything else you can measure.

You should have a better understanding of why Website marketing is important for your business. You can accomplish this through many methods. There?s lots of information on what you can do to take advantage of Affiliate marketing. By sticking to the information learned here, you are getting very close to becoming someone who understands how to be successful at internet promotion.

TIPS! Be mindful that your website tag is highly important and will be used to define your website. The title of your website can determine how your customers perceive your business?s website.

McCoy Wins Rhodes Scholarship - Yale Bulldogs

November 20, 2012

Hurdler and Thrower to Continue Her Studies at Oxford

New Haven, Conn. ? Senior Dakota McCoy, a hurdler and thrower on the women's track and field team, has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship for her outstanding academic and personal achievements. At Yale, she is a leader both on and off the track: she has conducted research in the fields of ecology, primate cognition, and evolutionary biology, resulting in several peer-reviewed publications, in addition to her commitment as a freshman counselor in Branford College. McCoy is also a member of Whim 'n Rhythm and won the Francis Gordon Brown Prize for the class of 2013, awarded to the member of the class who best upholds the standards of intellectual ability, high personhood, capacity for leadership and service to the University set by Francis Gordon Brown of the class of 1901. Her previous academic honors include a Goldwater Scholarship and membership in Phi Beta Kappa.

McCoy credits her time on the track and field team as key to her success at Yale: "I have always been proud and honored to represent Yale on the track, and track and field has been the integral part of my time at Yale and my development as a person," she said.

"Track and field has unquestionably taught me discipline and commitment, two necessary aspects of scientific research," she commented.

She lists head coach David Shoehalter, the Mark T. Young '68 Director of Cross Country and Track and Field, as a great mentor and supporter of her myriad pursuits: "There is no way I could have accomplished anything close to what I have without the unwavering support and help of Coach Shoehalter?he is a great track coach, a great person and a great friend! He is even an excellent birdwatcher. Often at practice, we would discuss killdeer who nested on our fields, ospreys in nearby swamps, or northern harriers soaring over our heads! He always helped me balance track, classes, and other commitments," said McCoy, adding that "when some aspects of academics or research came into conflict with track, Coach Shoehalter always trusted me to balance my various commitments and 100% supported excellence in these other activities. This is a really wonderful and unique opportunity afforded to me by Coach Shoe and the Yale track team."

McCoy also acknowledges her teammates as influential: "Of course, our path through life is largely defined by our community of friends, and I have to thank my teammates- especially Allison Rue, Jenna Poggi, Nina Renker, and Adele Jackson-Gibson- for being great people and wonderful friends."

"The Rhodes Scholarship is an amazing opportunity to represent Yale track and field?an organization I feel so proud and honored to be associated with?on the national stage. I could not be more excited and humbled by this opportunity, and I know it would not have been possible without Coach Shoe and Yale track," she said.

McCoy will pursue a M.Sc. by research in zoology at Oxford University beginning in fall 2013.

Rebels call truce as peace talks start with Colombia

HAVANA (Reuters) - Colombia's FARC rebels said on Monday they would call a two-month unilateral ceasefire, the first truce in more than a decade, as peace negotiators met in Cuba in the latest attempt to end the five-decade war.

President Juan Manuel Santos' government, however, has so far rejected any stoppage of military operations until a final peace deal was signed with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, and even vowed to step up the offensive.

The FARC said it would halt all offensive military operations and acts of sabotage against infrastructure beginning at midnight on Monday night and running through January 20.

"This decision by the FARC is a decisive contribution to strengthen the climate of understanding needed so the parties ... can achieve the purpose desired by all Colombians," lead FARC negotiator Ivan Marquez said, standing outside a convention center for the start of talks in Havana.

The gesture is a sign that the rebels are keen to push talks forward to a successful end, something that was thrown into doubt by long, drawn-out speeches by its leadership calling for major changes to Colombia's political system.

The warring sides arrived in black luxury cars at the site where they will meet almost daily until the talks end.

A crush of journalists surrounded the bespectacled Marquez who stood with other FARC delegates including Dutch national Tanja Nijmeijer in Havana's plushest neighborhood.

Some FARC delegates wore reminders on caps and T-shirts of Simon Trinidad, an official guerrilla negotiator who is in prison in the United States. Others shouted "Long Live the Army of the People."

The head of the government's delegation, Humberto de la Calle, smiled and waved as he entered but gave no declaration.

Officials want the talks held in the strictest possible secrecy, which is likely one reason they are in communist Cuba, where the government is expert at controlling information.

Colombia's war has dragged on for nearly half a century, taking thousands of lives, displacing millions more and causing damage to infrastructure in Latin America's longest running insurgency.

Failure of the peace process would mean years of more fighting and further blight on the reputation of a country eager for more foreign investment and regional clout, yet which has been unable to resolve its most serious domestic problem.

Residents in western Cauca province, one of the nation's most war-ravaged areas, celebrated the FARC ceasefire.

"We hope it's not just two months, we hope that it's definitive," Orlando Ramos, a resident in Miranda, Cauca, told local television.

"GRAIN OF SALT"

The announcement by the FARC could be a breather for oil and mining companies, the target of many FARC attacks in recent months as the group sought to hobble Santos' main source of international revenue.

The conflict proved to be intractable in three previous peace processes, but both the government and the FARC have expressed optimism that this time might be different.

Santos wants an agreement within nine months, although the two sides face plenty of thorny issues in their five-point agenda, which will begin with rural development.

The other points are the political and legal future of the rebels, a definitive end to the conflict, the problem of drug trafficking and compensation for war victims.

"You have to take this announcement with a grain of salt," Felix Lafaurie, head of Colombia's National Federation of Cattle Ranchers, said on Colombian radio.

"I hope this is going to be a sign of the FARC's good will and not that they'll then take swipes on substantive issues."

The vast majority of Colombians support the peace process, although they think it will ultimately fail, but even so, the talks are the biggest gamble in Santos' political career and their success or failure may decide the next election in 2014.

The conflict dates back to 1964 when the FARC emerged as a communist agrarian movement intent on overturning Colombia's long history of social inequality and it hit its strongest point in the 1990s when it controlled swathes of the country.

In the early 2000s, billions of dollars in U.S. aid, better intelligence and increased mobility began to turn the tide of the war in favor of the government.

The FARC has lost at least half a dozen top commanders and been pushed back into remote jungle hideouts in recent years, though the rebels are far from a spent force and still wage attacks against security forces and economic infrastructure.

Violence was among the reasons previous talks failed. In the last attempt from 1999 to 2002, the government broke off negotiations after the FARC hijacked an airplane.

"The FARC have heard the voice of many Colombians, that rightly have been skeptical about its willingness to reach an end to the war, given the past," said Juan Fernando Cristo, a senator for the Liberal Party.

"The decision for a unilateral truce should fill us with optimism about what's coming at the negotiating table."

Migration as a cross-cultural marital metaphor? On structuring a ...

Yesterday, I explained that I had started writing this memoir by using the metaphor of driving ? as I think of the marriage as a road trip. ?However, now that I think about it, although I identified that as a red thread yesterday, it actually may be more of a structure, such as the one my friend Sinan spoke of. So, whether it is a red thread or a structure or whatever it may be ? let tell you how I got to this place (?as if there were a choice!,? Karag?z, the sarcastic trickster puppet?points out.) So, a couple of years ago, I read?Travelling with Pomegranates: A Mother-Daughter Journey to the Sacred Places of Greece, Turkey and France, which is?a double memoir written by Sue Monk Kidd and her daughter Ann Kidd Taylor. ?Structured into three sections inspired by the Demeter/Persephone myth: LOSS, SEARCH and RETURN, the memoir?s red thread emanates vibrantly ? it is about growing up and growing old ? and the relationships between mothers and daughters. ?Clear as a bell, it had structure, and a glowing red thread, it was glowing so much, it was really almost neon, if you ask me.

Upon reading the book for a second time this summer, I sat up in my chair and thought ?I need a structure like that ? forget the whole driving thing ? that?s too confusing ? and surely a simple?structure will create an infrastructure for my red thread.? ?And then my mind went blank, totally blank, for months that felt like sandpaper. ?And then,?this fall, while re-reading an academic paper I had written that related to immigration, it hit me ? there it was ? a conceptual model for migration?often used in social work practice with immigrants in the United States ? and in many ways ? our marriage is in constant migration.

Reflecting further, I thought, we do travel between worlds both while in Turkey and while in the United States. ?M. always says he feels more American in Turkey now. ?I am often thinking about Turkey while engaging in normative American behaviors ? or Turkish-American behaviors. ?We often talk about Turkey. ?We eat Turkish food every day. ?We drink Turkish tea all the time ? and on and on. ?And given that idea, that we travel between worlds on a constant basis at both the?micro and a macro levels, what does a conceptual framework for migration?do for structuring this memoir ? or for finding my red thread?

So the conceptual model of migration I found goes like this: ?When working with immigrants to a new country, there are three phases they may be in. ?And, as a social worker, one should assess for which phase that person is in so that you can put yourself in their shoes some. ?Those three phases are:?Pre-migration;?Transition and Re-settlement. ?Now, as a student of the impact of globalization and transnational migration patterns, I know full well that this conceptual model is flawed ? as many people only migrate on a temporary basis, with the intention of returning ?home? someday. ?With globalization we are exposed to cultures and subcultures constantly, able to rotate between places and homes and cultures very easily, if the penny permits, we are not isolated ? and we are dealing with it all, all at once. So, this started to make sense vis-a-vis how I experience my cross-cultural marriage. ?There was something there I felt I could work with.

So, I began to think about migration. Now, I have not migrated anywhere permanently, except perhaps in my own mind. ?And I am hardly an expatriate at this point, although that is the group of folks I feel most akin to. ?And that is why the workshops conducted by those super-smart and interesting ladies over at Global Niche are calling me like a siren song ? as they can relate to the confusion of place, culture and identity in the cross-hairs of in-between. M. is with me in those cross-hairs, and?I think that somehow our time both in the United States and in our extended stays in Turkey has caused me to migrate my mind and perhaps my thinking and some day-to-day practices of life. As for M., he migrated from Turkey to the United States in part as a way out of tradition and customs that did not feel right to him, akin to rubbing a dog?s hair the wrong way, constantly. ?And perhaps that is why life in another culture comes easily to him, I don?t know. Migration is also a comfortable concept to me ? my Grandmother and Grandfather emigrated to New York City from Spain and Scotland, respectively, and never quite found themselves here or there. ?My other Grandmother emigrated from Quebec province as a baby, and the spectre of other-ness haunted her for a time. ?My stepmother and stepsiblings grew up in Kenya and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and migrated an international fiber into the fabric of our blende family. My good friend Trisha Thomas is a cross-cultural mother ? an American living in Italy for many years now ? and she thinks on these issues all the time over at her blog, Mozzarella Mamma

So, yes, I grew up with a well-steeped and stewed sense of other-ness, and mixed-ness vis-a-vis my family?s cultural elements and the migration patterns that led to that. ?And as a result of all that,?here is the structure I have today ? option #2 ? and who knows where it will go from here??

Section 1: Pre-migration:?This section of the book will be a series of chapters about my early exposure to Islam, Muslims and countries in the Middle East. ?It would also address my youthful obsession with being different ? and exploring different cultures. ?It will end with a chapter on meeting M. and the beginnings of my foray into a cross-cultural relationship.
